Marathon DJs

Great DJs and music is the most important of every event

DJ timetable - who's behind the decks right now ?

DJ Sergio

France

One of the humble salsa music ambassador in Paris, he switched from CDs to Vinyl in his quest for the rare sounds and their authenticity.

“A new way to listen to, greater harmonic richness, but especially the opportunity to get my hand on yet never digitized albums and therefore very little known.”

No doubt that you will recognize easily the “Artist’s touch” through his creative musical selection. He is the organizer of the famous party LeSalsa’ Club, which takes place once a month in Paris and also the Co-organizer of “Saturday Mouaze Fever” party.

DJ Gabriel

France

His own personal touch is recognizable among all the other; fed from African roots milk , polished with enchanting vibrations of the Soul music, embossed by New-York Mambo in Puerto Rico, relentless matured by listening, by researches and by passion.

An expert ear, an innate perception at the same time brute and sharp of « swing ». This indescribable vibration that sort of hit you the gut, this universality in the Art, that he has identified and received with talent.

What provided the movement , what shaked the both body and soul all of this has no more secret for him, then DJ GABRIEL gives by love of sharing, plenty of tremendous happiness ! Come to listen to him and enjoy

DJ Julian

United Kingdom

Julian is originally from Colombia and has been part of the salsa scene throughout all his life. He has been a Dj for the last 20 years playing at various Congresses and venues around the world. He is one of the First Salsa Dj’s who started Salsa in the U.K.

During his visit to Hong Kong where he performed in a Salsa Congress in 2008 he was awarded the certificate of participation for his outstanding performance. Julian believes Salsa is a way to bring happiness and to unite people from all backgrounds throughout music.

Que viva la SALSA!

DJ Anael

France

DJ Anael is a salsa sounds lover since more than 10 years and records collector since 2011.

In 2006, he discovered salsa, started dancing and collecting music by purchasing CDs and then Vinyl records. As a kid he received music and piano lessons, and this background gave him great listening skills, needed to discover gems songs to please the ears of dancers. Travelling to many congresses every year as a dancer, he aims to bring the same musical experience to the local salsa scene.

He started to play music for the crowds in 2012 as guest DJ, and quickly grew as the main Mambo DJ on the french riviera (Nice / Monaco). Since then, he collaborates on a regular basis with Marion Pontal (Ramark Dance Company) for events, and is invited to play in many local and french festivals (Monaco Salsa Congress / Pink Tolosa / Sund'Aix Salsa Festival / On2 is Nice / St Tropez Salsa Festival ... ). Since 2017 he runs Mambo Day afternoon socials, one sunday per month in St-Raphael.

DJ Cycy

France

Cyrine aka Dj Cycy joined the new wave of parisian Djs 10 years ago. She was educated to the subtitles of latin sounds and mixing by Dj Gabriel during O'Sullivans Salsa nights, where she became co-organiser and resident Dj.

Cycy is now one of the female Djs the most required on the international Salsa scene. Also a confirmed dancer, she has a great musical sensitivity. Dj Cycy juggles with a swinging music full of diversity, always in search for the perfect sound.

She plays salsa in every style: Salsa Clasica, salsa dura, son, salsa romantica, chacha…

DJ Karlos

Czechia

His real name is Karel and he lives in Prague, Czech Republic. Karel started dancing salsa already in 2001. Soon enough he became obsessed with the music itself and started exploring the world of all the salsa goodies. He was asked to perform the first time as DJ in 2005. Since then he was playing regularly at dozens of dancing events in Czech Republic and occasionally abroad as well (Bratislava, Moscow, Ottawa). Later on he also started to dedicate to playing other styles (mainly kizomba / zouk / bachata), but salsa is still his absolute passion.

Karel is especially well known for his regular gigs at Fresa Dance Festival (CZ), ZOUKTIME Dance Holiday (Croatia) and Prague Salsa Marathon preparties / afterparties.

  • "Just such an incredible experience, I’ve danced for over 20 years and this was the best salsa event I’ve ever been to. All of the little details, in combination with the music, the venue, and the incredible variety of dancers. Just magical, I can’t thank you enough, just sorry I didn’t make it sooner"

  • "I was really happy to come back and feel this event like home. I'm thankful to the team and DJs for excellent work. As well, I've heard about complaints and discussions about music (and I think it always exists in all events and all communities). All of us have personal preferences and tastes in music, and I believe its greater and is greater to have different DJs at the event who are playing different styles, not only the popular trendy stuff, not only easy to dance stuff. And I have DJs I love and the ones I don't. But gives me opportunities as well. Opportunities to rest, opportunities to watch people, and learn from watching. Please keep music diversity on the marathon."

  • "This marathon was the very best festival, I´ve ever been. Starting with this incredible love in each detail, from the decoration, to the beanbags for resting and relaxing in your dancebreak, to the peppermints on every table and the refreshing stuff in the toilets. I love this very unique concept of "all inclusive". Because usually on festivals you need big breaks for finding restaurants and having meals there. Often people eat chep fastfood, just to "have something". And many people forget drinking, because it´s too expensive. But in this case the "food around the clock" (including water, tea and coffe) was incredible! Each meal consisted of a varied, nutritious buffet with options for every taste - including cakes and fresh fruit and vegetables. The options for gluten-free and vegan diets were just as varied and everything was very tasty. The organiser Zdenek & his Prague Kizz team were incredibly attentive and caring, as was the catering team in a gorgeous venue that couldn't have been better suited. The DJs were great and played wonderful music - some of it really uniquely grandiose. And finally the dancers - never before have I experienced so many attentive and loving dancers at a festival. Everyone danced with everyone else and no-one thought they were ‘better’ than anyone else - even though everyone had a high standard of dancing. During this weekend it really felt like one big, cosy family. I am happy to recommend this festival to true dance lovers who appreciate this special and truly unique combination and I am already looking forward to the next meeting with the Prague Kizz family!"

  • "The environment, the experience, the vibe, the dancers, the laughs and the smiles, and the huge amount of dancing all weekend. This was most definitely the marathon where I danced the most out of all the marathons I've attended! I'm still amazed and surprised how much energy the marathon gave me to dance so many hours non-stop!"

  • "This was my first Fall Prague Salsa Marathon and I was most impressed. The high level of organisation, especially after all the uncertainty of the pandemic times in which we’re currently living, is very laudable! From the ticket purchase and transfer to the check-in and staff, welcome drink, outstanding meal offerings, friendly and professional kitchen staff, top-notch DJ lineup, quality level of balanced leads/follows, this Fall Prague Marathon was, quite simply, excellent!"

  • "Apart from the event already being incredibly well done, what stood out the most: - Love the new bands! - Good balance in music variety - Good choice to move the soup to the new spot so one doesn't have to stand in line just for that - Loved that there is fruit with every meal now. - Out of 14 marathons so far, this one is easily in the top 3! I'll point out a few more things in the review section that require a little bit of context."

  • "I enjoyed emotional dancing, see know faces from years ago, loved the Atmosphäre and the great organisation. Big respect and maximum thanks to all the make this event so uniqe! Thanks & Love Hendrik"

Our Venues

Romantic Grotta

Havlíčkovy Sady, 12000 Prague 2, Czechia

The Grotta is the main attraction of the Havlicek Gardens and looks like a fairytale with its peculiar rock formations. The artificial cave looks unusual on the building and features the arcade promenade which is quite unique in Prague. The Grotta dates back to 1871 to 1888 when it was intricately built by Moritz Grobe, a millionaire. After renovation in 2011, the cave was opened for public.
